“Los de en Medio de la Guerra “ Spanish version, is a factual narration of the forgotten events of the Guatemalan Civil War. Supported by documents, the book tells history as it was, without the influence of any party involved in the armed conflict.

The Guatemalan Civil War, which ran from 1960 to 1996, was fought between the government of Guatemala and various leftist rebel groups. Through the decades, many innocent lives were greatly affected by the conflict. In the book, Wu-Bi shares the stories of the civilians who were victims of torture and assassination perpetrated by the army and the rebel groups.

“Los de en Medio de la Guerra” presents the violent actions of both groups and supports its claims with actual documents from credible sources. Wu-Bi includes declassified documents from the CIA, the Guatemalan Army, the United States Department of State, from the civil war’s media coverage and other information from groups with an interest in the event, according to their point of view.

Readers will be interested in knowing the forgotten stories of the war in Guatemala, told by a witness who was not involved in the armed conflict, but feared the violence and insecurity of the country,” Wu-Bi says. “Los de en Medio de la Guerra” does not influence the reader but informs of the events.”

With the aim of bringing to light the stories that were not written in books, “Los de en Medio de la Guerra” also reminds readers “that wars in Latin America, instead of solving the problems of the countries, have generated corruption, violence, death and poverty.”
